A new Cooley song was just posted on the official DBT site. If you are thinking, shit man maybe this is the long awaited follow up to Zip City called Zip City 2 well you are a bit out of luck. What we have here is more I’m Gonna Get You In The Mood And We’ll Take A Shower In The Nude than one of those quadruple entendres like “whiskey’s hard to beat”  Click here to play and then sit down and talk about it with us over on our message board because we gonna talk about it over there,we gonna get into it(after we get off at the gas station,of course).Words and music man, words and music.

When It Comes To Leaving Time…

Patterson Hood - No Comments » - Posted on July, 30 at 7:50 am

You don’t need the Jetson’s telephone for a little taste of what Patterson’s solo tour is gonna be like. Jonicont from 3DD headquarters(northern outpost) was on hand last week at The Bellhouse in Brooklyn for Patterson’s show with Downtown Rumbers and special guest David Barbe sitting in on bass. Thanks also to acidjack from the kick ass live music site New York City Taper for the excellent audio. This is one of my favorite songs from Heat Lighting made a little better with the intro we have right here, it’s Leaving Time.

DBT, Matt Patton - No Comments » - Posted on July, 3 at 8:18 am

Another great one from this past April’s Rock Show at The Jefferson Theater in Charlottesville. As timely a version of this one as there ever was. And Matt Patton on bass banging his head. ROCK!

Looks like DBT gets a shout out in the new Public Enemy jhanke. This is really great. Behold the third verse:

DRIVE BY TRUCKER I PLAY IT LOUD MOTHERFUCKER
USE IT DONT ABUSE IT THE VOICE GETS ROUGHER
SHOUT MY VOCALS I SALUTE ALL THE LOCALS
SLEPT ON KEPT THEM OUT OF RADIO FOCUS
HOCUS POCUS SPOOKS SITTING BY THE SOUND
CORPORATIONS DICTATE WHAT GOIN DOWN
LOCAL ACTS I GOT YOUR BACK
UNDERGROUND MAKE EM RUN TILL ITS DARK
RUN EM OUT OF TOWN
THEY GOT ME STARTED WHERE I START?
CAUSE I DO IT TO SUPPORT THE ART
WHAT GOOD IS LEARNIN FROM SOME RECORD
WHEN YALL ONLY LISTEN TO 15 SECONDS?
