Update From Patterson…

There is a new update out from Patterson including news of a second night opening for Tom Petty And The Heartbreakers at Deer Creek plus a show at the 9:30 Club on July 23rd. Coming towards the end of a run of shows opening for Petty you can bet everything that you own that this 9:30 Club show will have just that extra bit of kick ass to make it a classic.  To read the entire update from Patterson click here.

What A Fucking Video…

Check out the brand new video for Working This Job. Directed by Scott Teems (That Evening Sun) and starring Ray McKinnon(Deadwood, The Accountant, Blind Side, O Brother, Where Art Thou?) It’s part “mister if you don’t shut up I’m gonna kick one hundred percent of your ass” and part mister “I got debts no honest man could pay.” Remember when fucking Yes made like 57 versions of Leave It? Well DBT didn’t go that far but there are two versions of Working this Job. The clean one with the alternate ending is here. Open Letter to the Guy who stole our backdrop in San Diego:

OK guy, let’s assume you were drunk and just being a stupid idiot for
a night.

Shit Happens. I’ve done stupid shit while drunk too (although never as
badly as you did the other night).

Let’s just say, we know who you are and I’d like to offer you the
chance to redeem yourself and perhaps save yourself some hurt.
Drive-By Truckers is not some faceless corporate conglomerate. We are
very much a family business.

One that is running its affairs on a hairline budget during these
tough economic times.

We’re making a living, but we have to watch every penny to do so.
In short, you just stole about a thousand dollars from our children
and that really pisses me off.

Especially since we were personally hospitable to you when you sneaked
backstage last night.

That’s Right. We know who you are and saw the film, in fact we have it
in our possession.

See, House of Blues is a big corporation so everything everybody does
there is on tape from many angles.

We know your face and what you were wearing and we have you on tape
stealing our backdrop.

We know what you do for a living too.

We will go to the authorities and prosecute you fully.

Or, you can send us back our backdrop. Anonymously. No questions asked.

Something Else You Can’t Believe…

Saturday June 5th finds DBT playing not one but two shows. That afternoon will find the previously scheduled DBT rock show at Mountain Jam.  Then later on that evening and approximately twenty five miles away DBT will be joining the Levon Helm Band at Levon’s Midnight Ramble. A limited amount of standing room tickets are available and well worth the price of $150 each. Tickets are also available in blocks of five for $125 each. Team up and save by hooking up with other DBT fans over on our message board.This has the potential to be one of the most unique and memorable shows not only of the year but ever. And if you are in the area you’ll want to hang around for day three of Mountain Jam where both Hood’s(Patterson and David) will be part of Levon Hem’s 70th birthday Jubilee.
