The Georgia Theatre is rising from the ashes and come the second week in August the scene in downtown Athens will look pretty much like this. Albeit new and improved but hopefully the same as it ever was except with doors on the bathroom stalls this time. Towards the end of two weeks worth of shows as part of The Georgia Theatre’s triumphant grand opening DBT will be playing Rock Shows on Friday August 12th and Saturday August 14th. Even though it only seems like the blink of an eye these will be the first DBT shows at The Georgia Theatre since the opening two nights of The Dirt Underneath tour back in April 2007 and the first Rock Show there since one of my all-time favorites,the 2/28/04 three hour plus barn burner(click here for download or stream). Way to go Georgia Theatre,I can safely say that the DBT community is psyched to have you back as part of the scene. Tickets for DBT go on sale via The Georgia Theatre’s website on Monday June 6th at 10 AM.
