Webisode 6:After The Scene Dies…

DBT, The Big To-Do, Webisodes - No Comments » - Posted on June, 9 at 12:19 pm

Webisode 6 featuring After The Scene Dies is out today. Athens GA makes a cameo and there is also brief scene from outside of The Jefferson Theater in Charlottesville where like the rest of the webisodes a majority of the footage was shot. I like way Patterson turns muted shade into a pejorative. Damn, did I just use the word pejorative on the 3 DD homepage or am I hallucinating? And that Old Navy line and also the part about the fries at the end. This song has more great lines than Tony Montana’s desk and it fucking rocks.

Now Get Downtown…

DBT, The Big To-Do - No Comments » - Posted on June, 2 at 8:10 am

As we are almost half way done with 2010 and on the cusp of a big weekend of DBT I thought it might be a good time to take a look back at where the year in rock began with super dope video and audio from the middle night of the 4O Watt run. What we have is a great fan shot video of Get Downtown where thanks to the genius of Jonicont and his editing abilities the camera angles are pretty much just exactly perfect. With a little bit of retrospection I think this video captures the excitement building around the still upcoming release of The Big To-Do as DBT nailed one of the better 40 Watt runs in their history. The audio from the whole show is now available for streaming on our mp3 player so after you watch the video turn it up and let it go. Onwards and upwards and to the fucking moon,Tom Petty,Levon Helm’s Barn,Squidbillies,Rock Band,Halloween,Europe, and New Year’s Eve in NYC.

18 Wheels Of Love – Chester Adams RIP (April 26, 1945 – May 27, 2010)
Y’ALL:

I’m sad today to report that my Stepfather, Chester Adams passed away this morning in Florence AL.

He’s been really sick for several years and had twice made amazing recoveries from deathbed conditions.

He’s been suffering from a host of problems, especially congestive heart failure for about three years and was recently diagnosed with prostate cancer.
He’s been having a really tough time with the treatment for that and took a major turn for the worse this past weekend.

My mom is doing alright considering but it’s gonna be a long sad road for her for a while.

Their courtship was the subject of our song and monologue “18 Wheels of Love” and his near death experience a few years ago was detailed in the Austin City Limits version last year.

I don’t know yet what kind of arrangements will be made but will post something at a later time when we know more.

Please keep Mom in your thoughts today.

Chester was a cool guy and truly a force of nature that will be forever missed in our family.

Thanks,
Patterson

Help is on the way for the beleaguered euro in the form of a big does of rock! DBT is heading to Europe in support of The Big To-Do with a tour beginning in Glasgow on November 10th and finishing  up in Norway on December 4th. Between those dates the band will be in some familiar spots but also some brand new places as they lay down the rock. For the complete run of shows head over to the official DBT site. And for a conversation among crazy people who live over there and a bunch of crazy people who live over here and are actually thinking about hitting Europe Grizwold style I direct you to our message board. God if I could only wake up in Amsterdam on Wednesday November 17th.

Webisode 5:Drag The Lake Charlie…

DBT, The Big To-Do, Webisodes - No Comments » - Posted on May, 19 at 9:34 am

Webisode 5 shines the spotlight on Drag The Lake Charlie the fourth song from The Big To-Do. If “Daddy needs a drink” was one of my favorite lines from the last record and it was then “I’m almost out of Valium, courage and self-respect” has to be one of if not my favorite lines from The Big To-Do. Yeah,I know people like that and sometimes they are me. Plus how hard does the opening riff just flat out rock!

Webisode 4:You Got Another….

DBT, Shonna Tucker, The Big To-Do, Webisodes - No Comments » - Posted on May, 18 at 10:31 am

You Got Another is the 4th Webisode for The Big To-Do. You Got Another blew me away the first time I heard it and since then it’s grown on me even more. Both on the record and in that perfectly positioned slot as the first encore where it really works. Especially that building and hypnotic ending. What a song.
