My Favorite Holiday Is Record Store Store Day…

DBT - No Comments » - Posted on March, 16 at 7:22 am

Record Store Day 2012 will see a limited 7″ release of Patterson Hood And The Downtown 13’s After It’s Gone b/w (Unspoken Pretties). With a show scheduled for that night in Atlanta at The Tabernacle I’d say the odds would favor some sort of in store at the still standing Criminal Records in Little 5 Points. And above we have a pretty much just exactly perfect performance of Pulaski from Record Store Day last year in the also still standing Plan 9.

Note About Boulder And Aspen Shows…

DBT, Neff - No Comments » - Posted on March, 10 at 12:40 pm

From The DBT Facebook Page:

Y’ALL:
John Neff will not be playing with us tonight in Boulder or tomorrow in Aspen due to a family situation. His Grandmother is very ill and he flew up to New Jersey to be with her and help his Mother. We will miss him but will be playing the two shows with him in our thoughts.
He will resume the tour with us in Phoenix next week.
Please keep John and his family in your thoughts and prayers as we all wish them all our best in this difficult time.
THANK YOU.

Big Smile,Good Times And A Big Thump Coming To The Rock Show Stage This Spring…

David Barbe, DBT, Matt Patton - No Comments » - Posted on February, 27 at 6:30 pm

Putting a quell on all those rumors, some of which turned out to be true, the official word came out today from the Hood that Matt Patton from The Dexateens will be playing bass for DBT during both legs of the band’s spring tour. The plan is to have Matt out on the road this spring with David Barbe on bass for the next DBT record but that like anything in the world of rock could change. Also mentioned in today’s official announcement was that DBT practiced and I can’t remember the last time that happened which means now is as good a time as ever to get to a Rock Show. I can’t wait to hear what this band is gonna sound like y’all.

Watch Out For Buford…

Alabama Shakes, DBT, Jay Gonzalez, Mike Cooley, Neff, Patterson Hood - No Comments » - Posted on February, 26 at 7:20 pm

I never remember how much I love The Buford Stick until well every time I hear it. Follow that up by a ferocious Get Downtown with some amazing playing by Neff and Cooley, some precise just exactly right banging by Patterson and Jay and well you have another highlight of the middle night of the 2012 homecoming run. I also thought you guys might dig some more of The Alabama Shakes opening set from that night. And yes there’s more to come so as Britney says, hang lose.

The Boys From Alabama Solo…

Mike Cooley, Patterson Hood - No Comments » - Posted on February, 21 at 1:11 pm

If you also like your trucker’s on the solo tip look for Patterson at The Double Decker Festival in Oxford Mississippi on April 28th on a festival bill that also includes Iron And Wine,Mavis Staples,Deer Tick, and The Funky Meters. Patterson will be headlining The Finster Festival at Howard Finsters’s Paradise Garden in Summerville Georgia on Cinco De Mayo. And speaking of solo shows, folks down south along with crazy people who drive and get on planes will have the chance to see the Stroker Ace unplugged as Cooley kicks off a two show run at The Earl in Atlanta on Wednesday followed up by a Sold Out one off at The Melting Point In Athens Friday night. There’s no telling what will go down over the three nights but Im hoping for more zoophilia references and no ZZ Top.

Those bad ass tapers at Team Dirty South will be streaming the audio live from the Cannery Ballroom. Point your clicker here Friday and Saturday night sometime around 11:15pm EST for the Rock Show and chat with everyone else listening from home over on our message boardBecause over there on the message board we  gonna talk about it,we’re gonna get on into it (been too long since I made a bad You’re Woman Is A Living Thing joke).

Some of the other artists playing the four day festival between July 26th-29th are Jackson Browne,Allison Krauss And Union Station,Leftover Salmon,Gary Clark Jr,Ricky Skaggs, Dawes, and a whole lot more.
