Vinyl sounds pristine.

Re: What's Everyone Listening to?
Been hammering the lead singles from RC & The Ambers first album "Big Country", out on September 10th. RC Edwards was the bass player for Turnpike Troubadours, and was the chief songwriter on probably 20% of their songs, and frequently co-wrote with Evan Felker. He was chiefly responsible for the more light hearted party side of their catalog with songs like "Morgan Street" and "Seven Oaks" and so far everything here fits that fun vibe. It's too bad this is coming out in September, because this is summer beer drinking music all the way.

Re: What's Everyone Listening to?
Lately:
JJ Cale Naturally
Rod Stewart Every Picture
Stones Sticky Fingers
Jason Isbell Reunions
Ray Wylie Hubbard Grifters Hymnal
Courtney Barnett Tell Me How You Really Feel
Also I recently got a cheap 6 month subscription to XM Sirius and I've been digging the TP and Bruce cahannels, plus the Yallternative and Outlaw Country channels and Dwight Yokum's Bakersfield channel. And Raw Dog comedy. Good stuff.
Patiently awaiting the new McMurtry and Garret T Capps records which come out this Friday

It appears that my vinyl preorder copy is out for delivery. My evening plans have improved.
I also recently got Sirius XM free from a credit card I hold. I haven't strayed much beyond Outlaw Country station, so I'll have to branch out a bit.
All it takes is one wicked heart, a pile of money, and a chain of folks just doing their jobs

It’s good. First two songs on Side C didn’t do much for me on first pass through but will obviously need more time with this one.Mundane Mayhem wrote: ↑Wed Aug 18, 2021 12:53 pmIt appears that my vinyl preorder copy is out for delivery. My evening plans have improved.

New Joy Formidable record. Good band!
Re: What's Everyone Listening to?
Early impressions are McMurtry by a country mile. Sturgill came off like a snoozer, but outside of Cuttin' Grass Vol 1, I haven't found Sturgill immediate in years. Always takes a few listens to grow on me.

Lots of new stuff out today. I'm leading off with this one.

Been listening to the new Sturgill all morning. I love it.
I had no idea it was even coming. It just popped up on my youtube this morning. Man it’s like Christmas.

Yup. The guitar work on this album is great - lead riff on the title track is a monster. One of the best sounding McMurtry albums yet.
