This forum is for talking about non-music-related stuff that the DBT fanbase might be interested in. This is not the place for inside jokes and BS. Take that crap to some other board.
Bovine, That Racer 5 I posted last night is as fine of a IPA that's out there in my opinion. I have a buddy in SLC that tells me his goto IPA is the Racer 5. I actually bought out an Asheville craft beer store when I was up there for DBT. It's a steal at $5. You a fan?

I am a fan of it but tend to buy something else for whatever reason. Probably because it is always an option out here, kinda taken it for granted, it's always there thing. I did recently have one of these over Super Bowl weekend and it knocked my socks off.

Drank some good beers this past weekend in Athens, especially the Terrapin rye pale ale which was on tap in the 40 Watt. Those PBR tall boys are good and cheap and go down pretty easy, but problem is because they're 24 oz, they're usually too warmed up by the time you get down to the last third of the can.
Also I'm semi-proud to report that I got drunk (drank? drunken?) under the table by Swamp after night # 1. After the show, Swamp says to me "Clams, let's you and me go to the bar and drink some whiskey." Of course it was against my better judgment, but when you're in the 40 Watt and Swamp says that to you, there's really nothing much you can do except man up and go to the bar and drink whiskey. Well, I was already pretty lubed up, so half an hour and (I think) three large shots of JD and Makers later, I was completely wrecked. Things got kinda ugly after I stumbled back to the hotel (there's a reason they call it the Dazed Inn). It was night # 3 - almost 48 hours later - before I was able to drink again. Lesson learned.
Impressive. When most beers get to that level of quality/hype I think there's a lot of hair splitting that goes on. Maybe others just have a better pallet than me but I often have trouble identifying what exactly is so good about a beer that is supposedly so good.
Hill Farmstead is the exception for me. Very carefully balanced, very clean beers. Big balanced flavor yet light mouthfeel without being at all watery. Clean.
I now understand why people drive all the way up there and wait on line.

Beebs, how is that maple bacon porter? I searched high and low for Rogue's Maple Bacon Doughnut Ale a while back. When I finally got one, I was really let down. I thought there was no way that it could be gross. So now I'm really intrigued by the beer that you posted.
In general, I do not like Rouge beers. As far as the inspiration for the maple bacon doughnut, nothing beats the actual doughnut from Voodoo Doughnuts.

Btw folks I picked up a new tequila anejo in Athens and it's top notch. Kah anejo. It had been recommended to me for awhile but I was a bit nervous thinking the bottle could be a gimmick. It's not. More vanilla-y than some other anejos and less smoky but it has a fresh taste, clean finish and is damned fine. I may have a little this evening.
We call him Scooby Do, but Scooby doesn’t do. Scooby, is not involved

I'm in complete agreement with this. One of the worst beers I've had.

I'm also in agreement with this. I would buy their stuff back when their was a dearth of craft beer in Iowa, but I can't remember the last time I purchased a Rogue product.
