GnR reuniting
http://www.jambands.com/news/2015/12/29 ... -for-tour/
According to Billboard, founding Guns N’ Roses members Axl Rose and Slash will reunite next year for a headlining slot at Coachella and a possible tour. The website cites “multiple sources” that confirm the band will play the festival when it returns to Indio, CA in April.
Guns N’ Roses are also reportedly in talks for a North American stadium tour for next summer, and they are scheduled to play the new Las Vegas Arena after its April opening. The band is said to be charging as much as $3 million to play. Consequence of Sound also claims sources that add Duff McKagan to the list of band members involved in the reunion.

I'm in if there's a tour. If Izzy is part of it, I'll drive a long damn ways.

Re: GnR reuniting
with you, though I don't want to catch them early in the tour, would prefer to see them create some relative stability (and by that I mean at the very least show up to play scheduled shows and not have any Stills/Young "eat a peach" moments) and also would want to hear what peeps say about the shows.Iowan wrote:I'm in if there's a tour. Re: GnR reuniting
if I had a vote I would have them leave it as it is, but if they go out I want to see it, all things being equal. If Axl is all in it could be hot. Saw him with what they call GnR these days a few years back at Bridge School and while it was mostly miss, when it was hit it was greatClams wrote:Not sure how I feel about this. I'm mixed on it.

They haven't made music together in 25+ years
The whole thing is an obvious money grab
Tickets will be a fortune
Stadium shows suck

Not entirely sure you know what "mixed" means.

I could care less. I read somewhere this afternoon that tickets for stadium shows, if they happen, would run in the $250-275 range. Are you fucking kidding me?

Slash left the band in 1996 so this statement is incorrect.Clams wrote:They haven't made music together in 25+ years
I agree with all your other statements.

I could care less but I am glad that his frees Tommy Stinson from his role as GnR musical director/bassist/Axl handler to get back to his own music.
We call him Scooby Do, but Scooby doesn’t do. Scooby, is not involved

This. While my educator's salary has kept me from seeing Bruce, TP and heartbreakers, etc. because of the ridiculous expense, not seeing G n R is more about not supporting "Ass" Rose.

I was never all that much of a G n' R fan to start with but I'm happy for those that have been waiting for this, or at least something close to this.

Re: GnR reuniting
I had tickets to see GnR back in the day and the show was cancelled day-of because Axl was "exhausted". It will be interesting to see if they can keep the commitment to Coachella, much less 25 stadium shows. Hopefully Axl has grown up a bit since then and can keep it together so he doesn't disappoint the fans who are willing to pay all that money to see them.
I keep it all together for the sake of the kids.

I was 5 in 1990. Hence my desire.
Re: GnR reuniting
Do I wish I could've seen them in their heyday? Fuck yes. Do I want to see them now? No chance
And I knew when I woke up Rock N Roll would be here forever
Re: GnR reuniting
Considering Slash and I almost ended up in a fight last time I saw him I think I'll pass.
and that pussy Alec Baldwin blew that girl away, and speaking of pussy Steve got it all!

One perfect album. then the heroin and the rock stardom. Ugh. Seriously. Listen to "The Spaghetti Incident" THEN decide if you want to go.Kudzu Guillotine wrote:I was never all that much of a G n' R fan to start with but I'm happy for those that have been waiting for this, or at least something close to this.
I've never taken a pissbreak during a DBT show but if I had it would have been during Dancing Ricky.

There is one very very good single album that could be assembled from Lies and the Use Your Illusion discs. In no particular running order:
Patience
Used To Love Her
Right Next Door To Hell
Dust & Bones
Live & Let Die
Double Talkin' Jive
Civil War
14 Years
You Could Be Mine
Now it's dark.
Re: GnR reuniting
Double Talkin Jive is by far my favorite Illusion track

Re: GnR reuniting
They could be in 1989 form and I wouldn't go just because Axl has consistently been the biggest asshole on the planet for almost 30 years and his Bugs Bunny teeth irritate me to no end.
If Uncle Tupelo or the remaining members of CCR reunited I would lose my shit.

Re: GnR reuniting
GNR was the first band I really lost my mind over. I was a really big fan back in the late eighties, early nineties and even after the wheels had come off.
Every time a rumor popped up that Chinese Democracy was about to be released I got excited even though I knew better. When it finally was released I had given up and lost interest anyway and actually hearing the songs didn't do much to,change that. Even though some of them are pretty good.
If this had happened ten years ago I would really be excited. Now I can't say that I care very much. I wish I did. But as others have said, if Izzy is involved in this it will make it more exciting for me.
Axl waited a few years too long on this one.

Re: GnR reuniting
I am having a hard time believing that there will be enough demand for a tour of stadiums. I could see sheds and arenas with maybe a LA stadium gig--or perhaps Saint Louis -- but a full-on stadium tour? Color me skeptical
