Great find- thanks!! I hadn't heard any song except Old LA and only read the one review (I posted). Somewhat starved for info and surprised so little has trickled out. I really appreciate it.

Wasn't bowled over upon first listen.

Just listened to Old LA. Better than I expected. I thought it would be accoustic, not that that is bad. Going to see White Denim and Wilco tonight!

if anyone is going to this tour, be sure to get there early for the opening act: sarah jaffe.
girl is amazing

we were young
we were young
we were young we didn't care
is it gone
is it gone
is it floating in the air?
i changed my mind
i changed my mind
now i feel indifferent

all that time, wasted
i wish i was a little more delicate
i wish my
i wish my
i wish my
i wish my
i wish my name was clementine

all your theories
on why I am
so complex all the time
you try to pick my mind
but what about you
you’re so vague
and everything you tell
is what keeps me coming back

wake me up just to call me
sleeping beauty
oh fine
that’s fine
I got my hands up
I’m feeling vulnerable

How can someone who wants to be loved
hate it when they’re loved at all?
Does guilt really feel that bad?
Every time I take a breath, honey
I feel the weight fall back on me
Somebody tell me it’s not so bad

Collected thoughts drown in sleep
I had forgotten what you mean to me
I forgot a lot of things

I thought I had read that Bobby Bare Jr was opening these shows. Or maybe just the northeastern dates.

Are you going? I met Ms. Yvon tonight. She said she is a friend of yours. You were not there tonight were you? We are both going to Amoeba, I guess that would be today.

Yes! I love Ms Yvon! She lives in LA and I'm in NYC/NJ but we meet up at MMJ shows, last time I saw her was at Red Rocks in August...she's a show editor in Hollywood so don't get to see her much..I'll be at the NYC Webster Hall New Mult show.

Remember this is 6pm EST!

I am trying to tag the tunes for this album based on the lead singer. The Farrar and James tunes are easy for me to identify but the Anders and Will tunes are not so easy (for me). Anybody have a track breakdown by artist? Thanks in advance.

VD City = Will
I Was A Goner = Anders?

am I on the right track?

Cortez. Get to the front! They are FAR more rockin than I expected. I don't know what you know about Anders Parker, I knew nothing, but he and Jim James steal the show. Anders is an effin musical genius,he play plugged and unplugged guitar, bass, and even drums when Will sings. He's got lot's of showmanship in his bones. Saw them last night, and today at Amoeba Records.BTW, I would not be surprised if the back of my head is in any of these videos.

Link to Amoeba in-store performance. LOVE Jay's mutton chops and all the gray facial hair. His voice is in good form, too. You go Mr. Farrar.

Seeing the KCRW and amoeba streams has gotten me very excited for this. They sound great together live. Great vocal harmonies that aren't just a studio product.

Anyone else prefer Farrar's bonus tracks to his album tracks?

Not sure I'm ready to make that statement. I think all his contributions here are excellent. But, then again, I'm as big a Farrar homer as you'll find.

I kinda look at Farrar the same way I look at Patterson; certain songs sound like they were written in their sleep, while others branch into new territory. With Farrar, I gravitate towards his less "obvious" contributions, if that makes any sense. In other words, there are some Farrar tunes here that are more "expected" than others.

Damn, writing about music is fucking hard
