I don't know how to properly react to it yet. Kendrick takes multiple listens to digest. And every record is so new that it's hard to catch what he's after. Instant favorites are HUMBLE and FEAR, thoughTW_2.0 wrote:ThisZip City wrote:

Re: What's Everyone Listening to?
I need to dive into Kendrick Lamarr at some point, but I just don't have a great setting to try it out. Hip hop/rap has to be loud as shit for me, and I do most of my music browsing while sitting at my desk.

Every record since Houston kid has been a killer.whatwouldcooleydo? wrote:

I did hear him say in an interview recently that this record is probably gonna close the book on his "growing up in Houston" songs. I guess that means no more Uncle Fireball.

The two I listened to this afternoon. Never caught the similarity between "The Girl Who Lives on Heaven Hill" and "Rockin' in the Free World" before. Pretty uncanny.

Re: What's Everyone Listening to?
I heard a song from this on Outlaw Country the other day and liked it. He's good for sure but he's one of those artists that gets lost in the shuffle for me for some reason. He suffers from the whole so much music and so little time dilemma. I pretty much always like what I hear of his and I need to make more time to listen to him. Hayes Carl, Darrell Scott, and Ray Wylie Hubbard fall into this same category. I like pretty much everything I've heard by them but for some reason I've never spent a lot of time listening to them.whatwouldcooleydo? wrote:

I have pert near everything he's ever released and he's being so consistently great from the very beginning. Make sure to check out his very first album, Ain't Living Long Like This, great stuff.Cole Younger wrote:I heard a song from this on Outlaw Country the other day and liked it.
