Thanks to all a youse for taking such good care of my "3rd son" (my kids' best friend and a loooong time family friend) tonite in brooklyn. He'd never heard the alabama shakes before but he now loves the shakes and the 3dd crew.

no problem! any 3rd son of yours is...a ...twice removed 3rd cousin of ours. ....
Another great show last night. Matt--where were you hiding? Closed with "How Many More Times". Takes balls to cover that one. They killed it!!! I'll get the audio up.
Jon, I was in my usual spot. Back corner near the soundboard sitting in my red lawn chair.
I showed up around 8:30 wearing my black cowboy hat and boots. Made a beeline for the area near the soundboard and set up my chair. As soon as I sat down I looked up at the woman next to me. Turns out I set up next to Brittany. I shake hands with her and she asks, "Are you a southern man." I say, "No, I'm from Jersey but come January I'm gonna wish I was a southern man." She asks, "Where'd you get the hat?" I said, "I swiped it from Waylon Jennings." She laughed and said, "I swipied mine too."
Great show. They hit it out of the park and then some. Afterwards David Rat and I chatted with Brittany and the rest of the band for a bit. Turns out Brittany is a fan of David's writing.
David Rat and I must have been the only dudes wearing cowboy hats in NYC last night. On the subway this pretty little blonde girl kept looking up at us. Now, I know she wasn't making eyes at this old cowboy. Turns out we were being sketched!

Yes! Me too! They absolutely killed it at the Brooklyn Bowl show. I can't wait to see them again in DC and Athens. I haven't been able to stop listening the the EP since we picked it up at the show last week. Just outstanding! And standing at Brittany's feet live, wow, that is something else.

Just got my ticket in the mail for the January 25th show in LA at the Troubadour. First show in LA at a legendary venue. I couldn't miss this one. I wanna look back and say, "I was there!!"

sounds like a good topic.
No doubt. I'd say right now, I'm firmly in that camp. Her charisma, playing, and overall stage-presence is incredible. I could rattle off several amazing women who own the stage when they get up there, but Brittany doesn't simply entertain you--see grabs you, and makes you not want to be anywhere else. So incredibly talented.
I waited too long making up my mind about going to see them and now the Portland show is sold out. Might have to jump through some hoops to work this out.

The LA show sold out over a month in advance. Glad I didn't lag, got the ticket in my drawer.
pretty damn impressive for a band that hasnt even released a full album huh?
I'll probably just shell out the 40$ and stub hub it, not thrilled to pay 4x the original price but it is my fault for draggimg my feet and I'm not missing the shakes over 30 dollars.
