What's Everyone Listening to?

Know of a great band you think we'd like to hear about? Got some music news? Or just want to talk about music in general? Post it here.

I need a ruling; can an album of mostly covers be considered in a "year's best" list? If so this one is climbing steadily.

I vote yes

Wow, loving this. Matt Stossell (Don Chambers' former secret weapon) lays down some gorgeous pedal steel.

NP: This. Agree on the pedal steel. May I also point to the harmonizing as well as some real tasty bass playing here and there.

I never tire of this excellent record. Get to see Doc and the band on 9/28. Looking forward to it, it has been too long.

Yeah, I heard about you Polaroid's,
now that's what I call obscene,
your tricks with fruit was kind a cute,
I bet you keep your pussy clean.
Honey, I miss your two tongue kisses,
legs wrapped around me tight.
If I ever get back to New York, girl,
gonna make you scream all night.

Yeah! You're a star fucker, star fucker, star fucker, star fucker, star
yeah, a star fucker, star fucker, star fucker, star fucker, star,
a star fucker, star fucker, star fucker, star fucker star.

That's how you pull off misogyny. Robin Thicke, take note.

This spent a lot of time in my brother's Craig Powerplay 8-track player back in the day. Still sounds good to these ears.

Listening to this guy, in order all day today. (with a few skippers...)
what a story this guy has (had) to tell. incredible how it chronicles his own growth: as a young man, a son, a friend, to a married man, a father, an American,
to a voice for others.
there are a few faults (only my opinion.)( especially as of late.)
no longer "in touch"? but still (always) a poet, a troubadour, a genius and a performer with a passion and work ethic.

badass, beyond.

Bruce Springsteen discography
Greetings from Asbury Park, N.J. (1973)
The Wild, the Innocent & the E Street Shuffle (1973)
Born to Run (1975)
Darkness on the Edge of Town (1978)
The River (1980)
Nebraska (1982)
Born in the U.S.A. (1984)
Tunnel of Love (1987)
Human Touch (1992)
Lucky Town (1992)
The Ghost of Tom Joad (1995) ( i'm an ass. just can't get into this)
The Rising (2002)
Devils & Dust (2005)
We Shall Overcome: The Seeger Sessions (2006) ( again, not a fan) :(
Magic (2007)
Working on a Dream (2009) meh, though i do love the wrestler
Wrecking Ball (2012) ( i am surprised at myself, and maybe a little sad... haven ever listened to this, not once.) the first and only springsteen i do not own.

40 years of work. incredible. musically, my hero.
