Re: April Tour Dates
Austin show was kickass. Some random thoughts:
1. Matt singing lead vocals on KKK took my baby away was fantastic.
2. Boy Yourself, Dustin, brought his daughter. This was her first DBT show. She stood right next to me on the rail. It was fun watching her. She immediately got pissed when the photographers blocked her view for the first few songs. Every time I looked at her, she was grinning ear to ear & having a blast. I thought for sure she would get tired at some point, but she never did. When Cooley played Imagine, she sang every word like the rest of us! In fact, she was singing along to more songs than not. Patterson gave her a pic & the lyrics to Gimme Some Truth. So cool to share a show with a very young HeAthen!
3. This was a first for me, I stood on 1 foot at the rail. I sprained my ankle late Sun night. I was on crutches for the majority of the week. I switched to a cane & continued to wear an aircast yesterday. I got escorted into the venue by the medical team, who said I could go sit in the VIP section upstairs near the side of the stage. I respectfully declined & went up to the rail. They said that if I needed a break, I could flag them down & they would help me to an ADA section. It was very nice to know I had that option. Props to Stubb's for that. I did sit down while waiting to get in, but was fine during the show.
4.Luke & I were thrilled to have Patterson dedicate Girls Who Smoke to us, so sweet!
5. The set list was rock solid. The band was on fire.
That's all for now.

Thanks for the link, John. Now I know why CG usually does the filming.

Re: April Tour Dates
UR and Cooley Girl, bummed I never found you guys on Saturday! After the Hiss Golden Messenger set (unfortunately we got in late and only caught the last two tunes) I walked up basically to the rail to say hello but didn't see you guys. I didn't want to come across like I was poaching front row so I didn't really push it. Next time! Truckers at Stubbs is pretty much the ideal situation. Austin def seems to be a DBT town as the place was packed (but not miserably so) and everyone was there for the Truckers more so than the party. It seemed like most people knew most of the words to most of the tunes. And everyone was super friendly. Killer little outdoor venue right downtown and the weather was ideal. The band was on fire and shit was LOUD. Probably the loudest DBT show I've ever seen, which is crazy considering its outside. What would be the 'encore' slot was nuts. The band just kept ratcheting it up another notch till it was borderline insanity.
And someone pls correct me if I'm wrong but pretty sure they were playing the theme song to the Mary Tyler Moore show (You're Gonna Make it After All) on the way out. A brilliant call, in my opinion. Austin's a great town, we had a blast and the Truckers delivered big time.

Great show last night in San Antone. Nice meeting uncle rickey and cooleygirl. I was pretty hammered so there is that. Good time and one of my favorite DBT shows.

This has been a very fun tour.
Last night was by far the most intimate DBT show I've seen.
Oh yeah and Phil Cook sat in during People Who Died.

Small crowd, small venue, nudity? I'm curious what you mean by intimate. Thanks.WarHenRecords wrote:Last night was by far the most intimate DBT show I've seen.

MAYBE 325 people there. Probably like 200 by the time the show ended.
If there was nudity, I missed it unfortunately.

Through the years I've had the pleasure of meeting many of you. While I enjoy sharing concerts with you, I'm afraid thoughts of a naked DBT audience may keep me up tonight!WarHenRecords wrote:Small venue, undersold show.ramonz wrote:Small crowd, small venue, nudity? Re: April Tour Dates
The wife and I have tickets for tomorrow night. Can someone shed a light on what time the band hits the stage? Our oldest son has a band banquet that runs until 9:00 central that we have to attend. We will be 30 minutes away and will head there straight away. Hate we will miss HISS. Will we miss any of the DBT show if we arrive at 9:30 central?

Due to family commitments and logistics we missed the first few songs (I got the complete set list form my friend Alex who is on the DBT FB page). But we caught the majority of the show and damn what a rock show! The band was tight and they were all in a great mood last night. The John Lennon song was a bit of a curve ball. Have they covered this before? It worked well as a setup for Imagine. The crowd was really whipped up from Love Like This trough the end of the show. I couldn't resist picking up a signed poster. It's Great To Be Alive!!

We're meeting up with bogart at the Outback on south 3rd ave pre-show Sunday. Anyone going is welcome to join us.
and that pussy Alec Baldwin blew that girl away, and speaking of pussy Steve got it all!
Re: April Tour Dates
Would really love to see the band play the theme music from "Archer". Of corse EZB would have to be wearing a beret.
