10/5/16 Sacramento, CA.
We're two weeks out from this gig. It looks like I'm bringing my 14 year old daughter to her first rock show. Who else is going to be there?
Keep calm and have a cigar

Does this mean you won't be spending the show in the bar? Also IN!sactochris wrote:We're two weeks out from this gig. It looks like I'm bringing my 14 year old daughter to her first rock show. Who else is going to be there?

6:30 door time. I figure that means a 7:30 start for Lydia Loveless and maybe 9:00 for DBT. Does that sound right to folks who know the venue?

Re: 10/5/16 Sacramento, CA.
Since the place segregates drinking, could be 6:30 for 8:00 LL to give people a chance to drink before show and then leave the stupid designated drinking area to get a spot. I've been there a few times but never paid any attention to what time the opener took the stageJohn A Arkansawyer wrote:6:30 door time. That is my guess. the SDDA is the worst thing about the venue.whatwouldcooleydo? wrote:Since the place segregates drinking, could be 6:30 for 8:00 LL to give people a chance to drink before show and then leave the stupid designated drinking area to get a spot. Re: 10/5/16 Sacramento, CA.
This is a longshot, or, if you prefer Dio, a shot in the dark:
I am riding back from the Sac show with Bill, who is staying at our house after the show. Thus I won't be driving myself to Sac. The friend I am riding with teaches high school and won't be able to leave early, so we'll probably get down there just in time to go to Ace of Spades. I would like to socialize some before the show, especially since I think this is the only chance I will have to hang with Dogstar. So.........
Is there anyone driving south to Sac who would pass close enough to Chico to scoop me up? I will of course compensate anyone who did go out of his/her way to pick me up. I am in Chico, about 90 miles north of Sac.
I realize this is likely way too random but figured I should at least ask. No harm in that, right?

Re: 10/5/16 Sacramento, CA.
I don't think it is random at all, I bummed many a ride down the 99 corridor between sac and Chico. Here's a thought, hit up the ride board in the BMU, there has to be at least one broke student in need of gas money that is heading to the show. You never know.

Damn, my ride can't leave town until 5:45-6. If Lydia comes on at 7:30 I won't likely be there when she starts

Re: 10/5/16 Sacramento, CA.
our very own and all around standup dude LBRod has offered to come pick me up, so it looks like I will be in Sac in time to socialize. Rod is coming a long way out of his way to do this, so I want to publicly thank him profusely, this really is "above and beyond" material. I am stunned by his generosity but not surprised, he's that kinda dude.
OK, got a few things to do before hitting the road, so I better get moving. See everyone soon

perhaps the pickle should grab a sandwich at a local Mr. Pickle's while here in Nor-Cal.
Never had one, but of their commercials are any indication of the quality of their food, I would suggest passing

Re: 10/5/16 Sacramento, CA.
Any ideas floating around yet about a pregame meetup? I was thinking about going to Zocalo at 18th & Capital. It's only 8 blocks from the venue and has a great happy hour that runs till 6. They will most likely have the Giants/Met's game on. I'm sure a few of us are interested in that.
