SRO in 2011
Just a reminder to Patterson that he said they would do SRO in its entirety in 2011 to celebrate the tenth anniversary of this classic, sorry if its been brought up since the inception of 3dd. my intuition says if they are going to do it it would be during the athens homecoming stand. anyways i'm in! wherever and whenever this happens. its one of those situations where you dont really need to ask permission from the lady she just knows. and apparently she's a living thing. lets just make sure this happens. we could even get started on some t-shirts--ronnie on the front and neil on the back perhaps? so lets get this announced so i start planning my life around it. bobby went out for joyride...

Re: SRO in 2011
Whatever the date... I am going to do my best to attend. A Shoals or B'Ham venue might be appropriate given the setting of the album.
Never going back to Buttholeville. (Good luck with that!)

My thoughts exactly.

I think they ought to do it on 9/11. Rock and roll is more enduring than terrorism or war. It would be the ultimate in your face, let there be rock moment. If they play SRO on the tenth anniversary of its release, I will be there if I am able. "A Fender Telecaster is a much better invention than an AK-47. Re: SRO in 2011
I wouldn't mind a few regional 2 night stands where they played SRO in its entirety one of the nights.
Re: SRO in 2011
I would have to make every attempt to see this, regardless of where it is. Getting angels & fuselage in Tulsa last year just whet my whistle even more
Re: SRO in 2011
would love to see Shonna on "cassie's brother"
E quindi uscimmo a riveder le stelle.
Re: SRO in 2011
Take that back, they would need to get Kelly Hogan on board.
And I don't know if it would be probable, but I myself love "Moved" and would love to see Rob play on it...
but I would rather hear Pat sing "Wallace"

I think they're gonna do it in suburban Philadelphia.

If they're gonna do it on 9/11, they should do it in NYC. On the site.

I'm not sure I could handle "Angels & Fuselage" on 9/11/11..

Re: SRO in 2011
For all the albums, songs, etc... that came out AFTER Sept. 11, 2001, I don't think any of them approach "Angels and Fuselage" in terms of poigniency. One of those cosmic things that SRO was released on Sept. 11, 2001. That album makes the best comments on the whole ordeal.
"All this hate and violence can't come to no good end. A stain on the good name. A whole lot of good people dragged through the blood and glass. Blood stains on their good name and all of us take the blame." A friend of mine who is an imman said something along those lines that very day.

Shit...revoke my DBT fan card.
I did not know SRO was released on 9/11. I didn't get into DBT until 2006 and somehow I've missed that tidbit of trivia.

I will also throw in my vote that this happens in the Shoals.

If this goes down, I will make it there....Now if they can bring back "Don't Cock Block The Rock" for this possible event it will be complete...I'm still wondering where this missing track would of fit in on the record....
Re: SRO in 2011
I thought I read that it was one of the tracks that was written and was going to be released by Betamax Guillotine. Seems like I read an interview where Patterson said that they had written several songs and wanted to release an EP as the fictional band.

I'm nearly sure that Ryan Adams had Gold come out that day too. "I still love you though New York" . I could see that going down from work, what horrible fucking memories.
Re: SRO in 2011
I think it was actually "Airplane Screams" that was intended as a Betamax Guillotine song, rather than "Angels and Fuselage". I know a lot of us assumed they were the same song until Patterson played "Airplane Screams" in a solo show a few years back. I'm pretty sure it was originally an Adam's House Cat song.
Airplane Screams - Patterson Hood
My girl's got a big black car, with room for me she's saving.
I lie here while she rants and raves, road to hell she's paving.
I don't want to be be put down.
I don't want you back in town.
My girl's got a big black car, with reserved parking spaces.
From the church to the cemetery, through the lights she races.
I don't want to be be put down.
I don't want you back around.
I don't want it, and I don't need it
Put your shovel down, you ain't caught me yet.
My girl's got these murky depths that she pulls me into.
Tried it, but ain't resisted yet, hoops I'm leaping through.
Listening to her airplane screams.
Listening to her airplane screams.
Listening to her airplane screams.

Dylan's Love & Theft came out on 9/11 too.
Re: SRO in 2011
I was talking about "Don't Cock Block the Rock", not "Angels and Fuselage".
Re: SRO in 2011
Shit, I didn't even see the reference to that in the previous post; as far as I know the songs that were being considered for the Betamax Guillotine EP were "Airplane Screams", "Don't Cock Block The Rock", "Three On The Tree", and "White Knuckle, WV". Would've been cool as hell if they had released it with the album.

Re: SRO in 2011
Wouldn't that be the greatest if & when the band decideds to do this gig, they have "Batamax Guillotine" as the opening act..
They can do the four songs meant for the EP (as ariedl mentioned) and throw in a few other out-takes...Two night stand somewhere in Dixieland......just dreaming out loud people!
