Re: Patterson plays with David Hood in Huntsville
I was so pumped when I heard they were gonna play Take A Letter Maria. Eddie Hinton also played guitar on the original. I love that song and must have I think at least four copies of the record. Anyone else think there might have been something going on with Maria before the guy caught his wife chea...

Re: Patterson @ Birchmere 6/17/12
He did this same sort of solo 3 to 4 date tour in this area a few years back. He played the main room at the Birchmere on that run. It was just him and the Matador in a rental, a Cadillac, if remember correctly. December 2006, two men in a Cadillac tour although I think I heard another name for it....

Re: Norfolk, VA (Norva) 4/18
Megafaun's I Shall Be Released was fantastic. They went over it a few times in soundcheck and again backstage pretty much non stop until they went on like it was on a loop. The Norva's backstage is labyrinthian and you could just hear it wafting all over. Magafaun is killer live and they are huge DB...

Re: Norfolk, VA (Norva) 4/18
Looks like decent weather on the trip down and back so I am getting the Triumph ready for the trip down the Delmarva. Haven't decided whether to go over the Delaware Memorial Bridge or the Cape May - Lewes Ferry. Ain't got a ticket or a motel room but I'll wing it. Back when I was in the Army I spe...

For almost the last two years or so DBT has had a multi-track rig going. If you want to know what it sounds like then check out the Sometimes Late At Night EP.

Re: Pensacola, Tuesday
Patterson tells a good story about The Mats stealing and wearing Jane Petty's dresses. I saw that tour in 1989 at Merriweather Post. I didn't have much money in the fall of my sophomore year in college but knew I had to see The Matts even if it was just for an opening set. I guess I took Tom Petty f...

Beth, that was very sweet of you to post. A lot of it is spot on and sometimes I wonder why I do it. Then someone like you posts such a nice thank you that is gives me the reason I'm looking for, that and the occasional person who comes by and says thanks or asks if you post the shows you tape and ...

Passing this on from Patterson: Beth, I just heard about the bullshit from the security at Workplay and what was said to Penny Lane. Re: Easter weekend, WorkPlay, The Magic City
Like Beantown Bubba said there were issues with the stream and wifi connection. I wouldn't say a show or the sound at a show sucked if a buddy called me and held up his phone and I couldn't really hear dick or get off. Maybe my boy had a shitty phone or was standing in the wrong spot? Not exactly th...

The Mattador was indeed missed last night at MSG. There's nothing quite like the E-Street Band and Bruce Springsteen is crazy in all the best possible ways. m I Was Uncle Rickey and Cooley Girl type close. I'm not sure what you mean by legit. I think the word Patterson used at the time was bullshit. Thanks for not posting a link this time. The track listing looks like one of those K-tell releases but they ran out of names like Right-On or Pure Power. This has nothing at all to do with DBT. fkU1teKNjwQ

Here's what Patterson has to say. Interesting as always: Y'ALL: Noticed that this weeks songs selected are Aftermath USA and You and Your Crystal Meth. Thought I'd chip in a couple of cents worth of chatter in light of our having brought one of those out of retirement lately. If I remember correctly...

Re: DBT at Floydfest!!
I've heard this is a family friendly festival. What does this mean, exactly? Do they tell the artists not to drop f-bombs on stage or something? It means I've heard people say "this is a family friendly festival." Guy that lives two doors down from me takes his kids every year and said to...

I think it would be awesome. And then no one would ever bring it up again. They could even print it on the ticket: this ticket entitles you to one evening of SRO performed in it's entirety and all memories of said event will be revoked and erased from your consciousness if you ever wonder out loud o...

Re: dbt track #92: demonic possession
Passing along from Patterson: 3DD Gang: Regarding the song Demonic Possession: I wrote it while working a wait shift at a great little cajun restaurant in Watkinsville GA in August of 1996. It was during the GOP convention and the TV in the kitchen was on with coverage of Pat Buchanan's speech. Seem...

A few things.....I was fucking pissed yesterday when I saw that this thread got locked and things around here rarely get to me like that. It wasn't done by Jonicont or myself That's some seriously weak sauce right there, Mark. I'm surprised you've still got any green mods left. Week sauce but true....
