Re: Is there one song that made you a fanatic?

I don't know if it made me a fanatic, but my first favorite song was Carl Perkins' Cadillac. I became a fanatic listening to the albums, the live shows on Archive, and finally seeing DBT live. Once I did that....it was over lol.

Re: DBT Albums--Week 5--The Fine Print

It's amazing to me how productive the time period of 2002 through 2005-ish was. Not only did they put out two damn fine albums, they wrote and recorded several outstanding tracks that didn't make either album and Jason wrote and recorded many of the songs that later appeared on his first solo album....

No it has the 490R/498T combo pickups and a rosewood fretboard. My Les Paul has a baked maple fretboard. The baked maple gets a lot of hate on Gibson msg boards but I don't mind it at all.

That's the response I get from about 90% of people or family when I tell them something about DBT or about going to a show or doing to Athens for Homecoming weekend, etc. It makes me kinda sad that more people don't know how great this band is.

Finally purchased our ticket package for the two Winston shows @ Ziggy's. We'll finally get into double digit shows as these will be our 10th & 11th DBT shows. Wish we still lived in Winston, but we'll be making the trip from Raleigh for these shows. Still up in the air whether we will make the ...

I didn't grow up in the South, I grew up in rural Pennsylvania. I didn't grow up in the 70's, I grew up in the 80's. Still Southern Rock Opera speaks to me on so many levels and contains some of my favorite DBT songs. Taken as a whole it's mind-blowing. And I don't think you have to be from the Sout...

Re: Free download from Southeastern...

I haven't heard anything but a couple songs off of Southeastern but part of what helped to deepen my appreciation of Heat Lightning Rumbles In the Distance was hearing those songs in concert. I couldn't agree more. I liked Heat Lightning when I first got it but after seeing Patterson a few months a...

Re: Does DBT have a hard rock/heavy metal following?

I came of age in the mid to late 1980's and grew up a hard rock/metal fan. During college I discovered a lot of other bands/genres and now consider myself a fan of most musical genres and time periods. With that being said I am still a hard rock/metal fan at heart and I love DBT. So I guess they do ...

Re: If DBT offered live concerts on CD/download...

Probably hard to do unless they had another crew member. To it at all properly you'd need to run a seperate mix just for the recording, and probably have at least one pair of room mics for ambiance and crowd noise, if not more. I'd hazard a guess that's it's just not worth the trouble to sell maybe...

If DBT offered live concerts on CD/download...

I know different bands offer "instant live" cds of shows you just attended. Other band offer downloads of live shows on their website after the fact. I would think the most effective way for this to be a money maker for the band would be to offer downloads on the website. Now I realize tha...

I know I'm being selfish, but I don't want them to get much bigger. I like being able to see them multiple times a year within easy driving distance in a relatively small room/venue. By the time of the Winston shows this summer we'll have seen them 6 times in 2013 all within a few hours drive, and w...
