Re: John Moreland Kickstarter

I don't know the deal, but if he's asking for money up front like this I just assume that Thirty Tigers is mostly going to be involved in terms of press and distribution. Them not giving him money for duplication and such up front is also less money that he has to pay them back on the other end of t...

Re: Tipping

[quote]I've never tipped at a coffee shop counter or anything like that. I tip at bars and for table service. I worked 18 months in the ice cream & frozen yogurt department at Stew Leonard's and never expected a tip./quote] If I get a regular cup of coffee, I might thrown a few cents in the tip jar ...

http://nymag.com/daily/intelligencer/2014/09/should-you-tip-your-hotel-maid.html This article popped up in my FB feed today. Just pay your damn employees better. How about that? My friend that posted this said that there's pretty much no way to fix the broken system of the food service industry at ...

Re: Fantasy Football 2014

I say winner calls it. We all say we are in for up to $20 in a form or fashion, then the winner can determine if they want cash, beer or a tshirt from a local bar from each loser, etc. Works for me! Cash is much easier to transfer, but I do like the option of there being some beer involved if someo...

Re: Fantasy Football 2014

I suggested just sending the winner a 6 pack of your favorite beer (or a nice mix of your favorites). The shipping on the beer is usually more than the cost of the beer itself. :)

Re: Fantasy Football 2014

I could go either way with the proposal. If y'all want to vote on it, I can make the change if it passes. Just let me know.

But I also kinda agree that we shouldn't change anything once the draft is over.

Re: Fantasy Football 2014

That's 4 votes (plus me) for the 27th. I can push it back to 7:30 PM Central if that's better for everybody. We may roll with that date and time if we get another vote or two for it. That'll be a majority of us. Just sent Tinnitus an invitation. We'll have ten when Grapico gets in. Do y'all wanna sa...

Re: Fantasy Football 2014

Grapico, it's not showing you in the league. Did you get signed up? I sent a couple of invitations to your email that was in the league last year. Gonna send Tinnitus a PM to get his address. That should make 10. What days are best for your draft night? Wednesday usually works for me. And Thursday w...

Re: Fantasy Football 2014

I'm totally down for having TC and Tinnitus in. Y'all go ahead and PM me your email addresses and I'll send your invites. Then we'll work on figuring out who the 8th person is from last year. Seems like maybe it was MrB or BTB. Speaking of things getting confused, can y'all change your team names to...

Re: Fantasy Football 2014

I just renewed the league and invited everyone that played last year. Let's give it a few days and see if everyone signs back up. (You should be getting the email from Yahoo based on which address you used last year). TC, you can fill the void if there is one or we can go to 10 players if we have so...

Re: Fantasy Football 2014

Let's do it. I've been thinking about this for the last couple of days. Let me get some other shit done this afternoon and I'll come back here later and we'll start rallying the troops. Let's shoot for an 8-man league again this year. That seems to work out pretty well. 20 bucks and some beer to the...

Re: Lee Bains III & The Glory Fires

. The size of the room and quality of the sound system might have something to do with it, You're probably right there. I would assume that the vocals would be louder in a bigger room with a bigger PA. But smaller PAs in little clubs don't really push the vocals over the amps like they need to do. ...

I'm ashamed of myself. I haven't smoked anything since the NFL playoffs. When I got into smoking stuff a few years back, I used to love getting up super early to get everything going. But with my current work schedule, the last thing I want to do is get up at 4 or 5 AM on an off day because that's w...

Re: Cooley, Hood and Isbell together for Terry Pace Benefit

There are other places to drink downtown, but On the Rocks is more or less your only bar option in that area. There is a restaurant across the street from it called City Hardware that has good food and serves beer. Ricatoni's is beside that and has booze as well. There is an "open jam" at OTR after ...
