Re: The Black Keys Summer/Fall Tour 2010

Saw them in Denver last night - what a show. Sold out the Fillmore, which holds upwards of 4,000. Great room. Great (read:loud) sound. Great band. About an hour and 45 minute show. Best setlist I can come up with from memory: - Thickfreakness - Girl is on my Mind - Set you Free - Everywhere I Go - ...

Ryan Bingham last night...

Killer show at a little club in Cambridge, MA. TT and the Bears. He's on a big Country tour but made a stop for a headlining show and it was great. Sold out show...rocking all night. Played a few new songs. he really seemed to be enjoying being able to play a full set instead of the short set on the...

DBT - Nateva Festival

I'm not sure if there was a discussion..I can't find it but is anyone hitting this whole festival?. I might be looking for some people camp with. Let me know. DBT plays the main stage with She and Him and the Flaming Lips later headlining so they have a nice spot on saturday. Should be a good time!

Re: Most disappointing albums of 2010

and the Band of Horses...that one kind of bores me. Par for the course. eh, I really like it. It's definitely a sharp left turn from the first two records, which is bound to leave some fans behind I was never really a fan so that is probably just me...plus it had the unfortunate luck of leaking the...

Re: Most disappointing albums of 2010

I have to say it...the Big To Do...its not a bad album but I guess my expectations were high and I don't think i've listened to it since I saw them in March...so that kind of tells me how I feel about it...some good songs just didn't blow me away.

and the Band of Horses...that one kind of bores me.

Re: The Black Keys Summer/Fall Tour 2010

The Black Keys headlined an intimate benefit show at New York’s Housing Works Bookstore Café last night. The performance also coincided with the release of the band’s new studio album Brothers, which was largely recorded in Muscle Shoals, Alabama. Writer Alan Light, who profiled the band for recent ...

Re: The Black Keys Summer/Fall Tour 2010

they've done it with other songs (Lookout Mountain, You and Your Crystal Meth, etc.)[/quote] it is also more likely going to happen in a band with 3 songwriters..where the Keys have one. My point being Pitchfork shouldn't be worried about them having songs for the next album. This album kicks ass an...

Re: The Black Keys Summer/Fall Tour 2010

You make the album now, you don't record songs and say "let's save that one for the album we are going to put out two years from now". sometimes it happens, you have a song lying around but good bands don't do that. Unless you're The Drive-By Truckers well if you are making 2 albums in a ...

Re: The Black Keys Summer/Fall Tour 2010

Pitchfork gives Brothers a 7.7. The reviewer seems to give the album a lesser review because of its length. If there's one thing that keeps Brothers from jumping the gap between a "very good" album and a "great" album, it's the running time. When it's all said and done, the 15-t...

Re: Grace Potter and the Nocturnals?

Don't be fooled by Grace's looks either...the can flat out sing, play key and guitar..super talented...and the band jams. I saw them at Mountain Jam a few years back and she killed..and then came up with Gov't Mule to sing a Zeppelin song. Great band.

Re: The Black Keys Summer/Fall Tour 2010

These guys are one of my favorite bands of the last decade. I'm loving the success they are having right now. If anyone here has not seen them live go immediately. I've had the new album for a while now and I don't know if I have gone a day without listening to it. I would agree if you are just star...
