I didn't have the chance while I was away, but I wanted to thank everyone for their thoughtful responses. It is very helpful.

Personal Hearing Protection For Children
Hello Everyone. Both my family and a group of our friends had booked cabins in Wisconsin for an extended Labor Day weekend vacation. One of our friends had discovered that Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit, Frank Turner and the Sleeping Souls, and Communist Daughter are playing a late afternoon show out...

Re: Louisiana 1927
Great tune. I don't recall ever seeing it played live. I had burned that Tabernacle show on CD which I wore the shit out of over the years. I never knew that it was a Randy Newman cover. That was a well placed and well picked cover song, because it felt like DBT's own.

Re: MLB 2017
this reveals your cosmopolitan bias to a shocking degree  I would be interested to see how Boston fans feel about Billy Buckner's return to Fenway and whether there were similar emotional parallels. A good analogy even though the difference between a player and a fan being the object of derisi...

#bringbackcareless
Careless was so fantastic to see live in the early to mid aughts! After touring around the globe a couple of times with American Band and its phenomenal punk sensibility, I think that this fall tour would be a perfect time to bring Careless back into the fold a time or two. Matt Patton would be perf...

I believe that is a generalization that can be used for most major and even small market fanbases. Maybe even our society as a whole. Hell, look who we elected as the 45th POTUS. Of course you're probably right. I always go in to everything I do, work, hobbies, etc. believing that the other people ...

If the story had ended with him getting kicked out with a few beer showers, that would have been ideal. It was the Chicago Sun-Times staking out his house (and releasing his name and address) that was truly unforgivable. Oh, and every national broadcast by FOX, ESPN and TBS showing that clip for fi...

For the life of me I will never understand how people thought 37 year old Moises Alou was gonna catch that ball. He even admitted to it afterwards (even if he retracted that statement later). I sat in section 204 in my best friends season tickets for every game that series, which is roughly 2-3 sec...

Ok Cubfan, I've waited long enough for you to chime in (assuming you returned from you run, no?). I want details! Spill it. ;) Hey man. It was an absolutely fantastic three night run at MSG. Much of the crowd were people in there 30's and 40's like ourselves. There were enough wooks to know that yo...

Birthday Boy is a top five Cooley sonbg. Y'all are crazy. I never said that I think its a bad song or that I don't like the song. It's just that the dude has such a strong collection of songs. To be honest, in regards to studio selections I'd only rank "Bob" and "Hearing Jimmy Loud" as songs below ...

Re: English Oceans Discussion Thread
I wouldn’t call Hood’s contributions to English Oceans weak, but I think that particular album is definitely where Cooley refound his footing after having a rough time during TBTD and Go-Go Boots. No idea if that’s the explanation or not, just makes sense in my head. What is this "rough time" that ...

Bunch of speculation for tonight's show. Powdered Donut, I believe. Anniv. of J.J. Cale's death. Could we get Cocaine and After Midnight (ahhhh, memories of that After Midnight in the Everglades during that New Years run in '99!)? I was in the Everglades for that After Midnight as well. I had forgo...

Boston Crème: Only one thought: Foreplay/Long Time- not even sure they have played that since '94. As for Strawberry Letter #23 - I was floored when I saw the setlist. Never heard of Shuggie until a few years ago and absolutely LOVE this tune! ;) Was thinking the same. Once in '99, which was an ele...

I thought the 3 shows from this weekend to kick off the Baker's Dozen were great. I am slowly getting pulled back into the Phish world as a result. Never thought that would happen. So far, no repeats. And the Suggie Otis cover on Saturday was cool. Totally agreed. Strawberry Letter 23 kicked seriou...

Re: Chicago Show -- July 20
Work took priority last night, and I got hung up in a 90+ minute conference call and missed the Metra from the burbs which would have gotten me there on time. Heard it was an intense sample set with the band playing with a vengeance. BYOB and beautiful Chicagoland weather last night. Bummed that a m...

I'm forever incompetent when it comes to successfully posting YouTube videos, however his cover of "Royals" is absurdly good. Once a Dead or Phish setlist geek, always a setlist geek: I am just wondering what will be the first repeat during the MSG run (nothing wrong with that -I am just interested). As far as newer, my money is on No Man in No Man's Land and Blaze On; older: DWD, Twist, and Light. Those are good guesses....
