Zip City It’s A Good Thing…
I can’t believe this was really six years ago today.Taking place outside in the quad at Washington Lee University in Lexington,VA this show was part of the weekend’s homecoming festivities. When the music started it was just a handful of us there along with the band and a cooler of Miller High Life that I had snuck in and placed by the soundboard. And by snuck in I mean just carried the cooler right in! With a Tornadoes opener the show started out amongst nothing but familiar faces and by the end there were maybe 50-75 students all dressed up from the homecoming dance checking out the rock show. What a difference this was from the sold out show at the 9:30 Club exactly one week earlier that to this day still remains one of my all time favorites from The Dirty South era.Pretty weird little scene here at Washington and Lee but a great fucking fall evening outside in the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia for sure.
